Why should I shop at SkyMilesShopping.com?

Every time you begin your shopping at SkyMilesShopping.com, you earn miles. You simply click on a retailer's name or logo, shop online as usual and you'll earn miles for the purchases you make during that session. It's that easy.

Can I go directly to a retailer's web site, or do I always have to start here?

In order to receive miles, you must begin your shopping at SkyMilesShopping.com every time. It's the only way your purchases can be tracked in order to earn and get credit for miles.

When will the miles I've earned appear in my account?

The amount of time between when you place your order with a merchant and when your miles appear in your account can vary widely, depending on the merchant. It can take as few as 3 days and up to 45 days to appear in your account, but we'll send you an email confirming it so you don't have to worry about it! For any purchases made for travel (including hotels and rental cars) you will see your miles posted once that travel has occurred. Even then, please allow up to 45 days.

Do I get miles every time I shop, or just the first time?

You get miles every time you shop, when you start your shopping session at SkyMilesShopping.com. Plus, there is no limit to the amount of miles you can earn from the SkyMilesShopping.com mall.

Do I get miles for anything I buy?

Some retailers do not offer miles for certain products and services such as gift certificates. Also, taxes and shipping fees are not eligible for miles. You can get specific details on the information page for each retailer on the SkyMilesShopping.com website. To find the retailer information, click on the "more info" link next to the retailer's name on any shopping category page.

What happens to the miles I've earned if I have to return a purchase?

All returns will result in a deduction of miles previously awarded for that purchase. Due to the integration of the North West Airlines and Delta Airlines Loyalty programs, there may be some delays in how quickly returns are processed.

Do I need a coupon code to take advantage of special offers?

In some cases you do. The coupon code will be given to you along with the special offer. Note that if you go to other sites online to try to find coupon codes and use those, you may not be eligible for miles through this program.

How do I know how many miles I will receive for each purchase I make?

You will earn a different amount from each retailer, depending on what you buy at that retailer's site. We show you the number of miles you will get for each $1 you spend at a specific merchant. View the retailer's information page for specific details.

We use email to communicate with you about your purchases and miles rebates. We may use your email address and phone number to contact you in the course of resolving any problems you may have. I made a purchase outside SkyMiles Shopping. Can I still get miles?

In order for your purchase to be eligible for SkyMiles you must start your online shopping at SkyMilesShopping.com. Unfortunately, purchases made without going through the mall are not eligible for miles. Online orders need to be tracked to your SkyMiles account, and this happens automatically when you login to the SkyMiles Shopping mall using either your email address or SkyMiles #. Merchants will not fund loyalty shopping rewards if a transaction cannot be tracked back to SkyMilesShopping.com.

Can I earn miles by shopping in-store?

Currently, you can only earn SkyMiles when shopping online. Some merchants, however, allow you to shop online and pick up in-store (please check with each merchant for the availability of this feature). Alternatively, there is a wide selection of gift cards you can purchase through SkyMiles Shopping on our Gift Cards page and through participating online retailers. You earn miles when you purchase these prepaid cards, and the cards can then be used in-store.

Can I earn miles for another member?

The SkyMiles # or email address that is used to login to SkyMilesShopping.com will be the account credited with any transaction made through the mall. To credit another user's account, with their permission, simply login with their SkyMiles number.

When will I see miles post in my account?

Miles earned through SkyMilesShopping.com do not post instantly to your account. Miles typically post within three business days after your order ships. However, sometimes posting can take longer, so please allow up to 45 days for miles to post. A confirmation email is sent when your miles post to your account. You can check your account directly at delta.com/skymiles.

My order hasn't posted to my account for more than 45 days. What do I do?

Using the Contact Us form at the bottom of this page, please provide the date of transaction, merchant name, order number, and amount of your purchase (before taxes and shipping).

Please note that we cannot research orders that were placed 180 days or more prior to today's date. Merchants will not address order inquiries that are older than 6 months or 180 days.

Currently we require that you enter a valid US zip code to register. If you reside outside the United States, we suggest you choose a 5-digit zip code like 99999 to register. (For security purposes we ask for your zip code when you access your profile, so remember the zipcode that you used to register.) After you successfully register, nothing is preventing you from earning miles through merchants who agree to ship outside the U.S. Please note that not all merchants will ship internationally. Please check with each merchant's "Help" or "FAQ" page regarding international delivery before completing a purchase through SkyMilesShopping.com.

How do I know that merchants are really participating?

Always start your shopping at SkyMilesShopping.com so your order will be tracked to and therefore eligible for miles. There is no need to enter your SkyMiles # at the merchant's site and there is no need to contact merchants directly for miles confirmation. Retailers are often unaware of SkyMiles Shopping. This is because SkyMiles Shopping is the organization that credits the miles, not the retailer. The retailer pays a commission to SkyMiles Shopping, and SkyMiles Shopping converts this payment to miles for you. When you log into the mall using your SkyMiles # or e-mail address, all eligible orders made through the mall will earn miles. A confirmation email is sent when your miles post to your account.

I have questions about my American Express SkyMiles Card.

You do not specifically need to use your Delta SkyMiles American Express card to make purchases. You earn miles through shopping through the merchants on the SkyMiles Shopping mall regardless of the credit card company.

However, if you do use a Delta SkyMiles American Express card, you earn SkyMiles every time you use the card in addition to those miles earned from shopping through SkyMilesShopping.com. So, when you shop on SkyMilesShopping.com, you essentially "double dip" and earn miles by using the card, and by shopping through SkyMilesShopping.com.

How do I install SkyMiles Shopping Assistant?

You can install Delta SkyMiles Shopping Assistant through the following steps from the SkyMiles Shopping Home page:

  1. You must be signed in to SkyMiles Shopping in order to download the SkyMiles Shopping Assistant.
  2. From the home page, click on the SkyMiles Shopping Assistant icon on the left navigation.
  3. This will take you to the download page; select 'Download the SkyMiles Shopping Assistant' and double click to download the toolbar.
  4. The Delta SkyMiles Shopping Assistant Setup overlay/grey box will appear. The Setup will prompt the member to:
    • Destination Folder – select the default or Browse for the preferable location of the Application on your computer
    • End User License Agreement – After reading and reviewing the license agreement, select the option to either I Agree to terms or Cancel
  5. The Delta SkyMiles Shopping Assistant Setup will begin loading in the selected folder. Notice the installation bar for progressions, during which an instructive alert message will appear to prompt the member to "Restart internet browsers to activate the Assistant," click OK to restart your internet browsers.
  6. An alert insert message will advise when the Setup has successfully installed. Notice the installation bar should be completely filled before clicking the Continue button to view the Delta SkyMiles Shopping toolbar.
  7. Notice in the upper left corner, the SkyMiles Shopping drop down menu and the Search box SkyMiles Shopping icon should be added to the toolbar on the Delta SkyMiles Shopping Home page.
    • The SkyMiles Shopping drop down menu will provide members with options:
      • Sign In – Sign into the toolbar
      • Uninstall – Uninstall the toolbar
      • License Agreement – Review the license agreement page
      • Help – Help option to include:
      • Run Diagnostics
      • Check for Updates
      • FAQ – Review the frequently asked questions of the program
      • About Delta SkyMiles Shopping Assistant – Review details of the Assistant
  8. When you download SkyMiles Shopping Assistant if you are given the opportunity to "Run" the SkyMiles Shopping Assistant installer chose the "Run" option on the dialog box. This is the preferred method.
  9. Alternatively, you can save the installer and start the installation by double-clicking on SkyMiles Shopping Assistant installer (check your Desktop or your browser's Downloads folder for the SkyMiles Shopping Assistant installer).
  10. Follow the installation prompts to:
    • Review and accept the SkyMiles Shopping Assistant End User License Agreement
    • Select the destination folder and continue the installation
    • Close any open browsers that may be running
Once SkyMiles Shopping Assistant is installed, your default web browser will be activated to complete the registration process. A grey SkyMiles Shopping Assistant icon will appear on your browser to indicate that SkyMiles Shopping Assistant is installed. You must login again to complete the process.

If you are unable to install the SkyMiles Shopping Assistant and are receiving strange errors, you may not have administrator privileges on your computer. Be sure that you are on the computers' administrator account when downloading the SkyMiles Shopping Assistant. If you are still having problems, you may need to contact the computers' administrator and have them install the SkyMiles Shopping Assistant.

How does SkyMiles Shopping Assistant work?

With SkyMiles Shopping Assistant, when you are searching for an item online your search results on the three most popular search engines (Google, Yahoo!, or Bing) will be tagged with the Delta logo, indicating that a discount or offer is available for that item. Hovering your cursor over the Delta icon will reveal the offer which you can easily redeem by clicking "Earn Miles" or 'Save & Earn' for special offers. SkyMiles Shopping Assistant presents discounts and rewards available to you as a Delta SkyMiles Shopping Member. You can also enter an online retailer's url and go directly to their site; if the retailer has a valid offer, a curtain will appear with details. Simply click 'Earn Miles' and your purchase will be tracked.

SkyMiles Shopping Assistant will present offers you are eligible for when it is installed and registered on your computer. To confirm that SkyMiles Shopping Assistant is installed and registered, check your browser for a blue SkyMiles Shopping Assistant icon.

  • If you do not see a SkyMiles Shopping Assistant icon present, check your browser version & operationg system is supported (see What operating systems and browsers does SkyMiles Shopping Assistant support?)
  • If you see a gray SkyMiles Shopping Assistant icon on your browser, this indicates that your SkyMiles Shopping Assistant download was successful, but that you are not signed in (this can happen when your default browser is different to the browser used to initiate the download). Click on the SkyMiles Shopping Assistant icon menu and select 'Sign In'

If SkyMiles Shopping Assistant is properly installed and registered on your computer, you may still not see offers:

  • If there are no offers available for which you are eligible.
  • If there is a technical problem with the SkyMiles Shopping Assistant service.

To get SkyMiles Shopping Assistant back use the View menu on the Internet Explorer browser window, select Toolbars and make sure that the SkyMiles Shopping Assistant option is checked.

Can I uninstall SkyMiles Shopping Assistant using my browser's plugin / add-on manager?

Most browsers provide facilities to disable add-ons for that the Browsers. You can use these browser facilities to disable SkyMiles Shopping Assistant on Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome or Apple's Safari Browsers. Please check your browser's help files for more information on how to disable a plugin / add-on using these facilities.

Note that if you disable SkyMiles Shopping Assistant on a particular browser without using SkyMiles Shopping Assistant's built in uninstall function, you will only disable the application on that particular browser.

How do I uninstall SkyMiles Shopping Assistant?

To uninstall Delta SkyMiles Shopping Assistant please use the SkyMiles Shopping Assistant's Uninstall functionality by following these steps:
  • From the Delta SkyMiles Shopping Home page, select the Uninstall option of the SkyMiles Shopping drop down menu.
  • The Shopping Assistant will ask the member if they "would like to uninstall the Assistant?" Yes or No are the options.
  • If Yes selected, the Assistant Uninstall overlay will appear and identify the toolbar folder location in your computer. If the folder is confirmed, click the Uninstall button at the bottom of the Setup overlay box.
  • The Assistant Uninstall will begin uninstalling from the selected folder. Notice the uninstallation bar for progressions, during which an instructive alert message will appear to prompt the member to "Restart internet browsers to uninstall," click OK to restart your internet browser.
  • An alert insert message will advise when the Setup has successfully uninstalled. Notice the uninstallation bar should be completed filled before clicking the Continue button to restart the internet browser.

  • To Sign out, click the SkyMiles Shopping Assistant icon and select the "Sign Out" menu option.

  • If Disabled, SkyMiles Shopping Assistant won't be visible in the toolbar.

Miles will be awarded to whichever account was used at login; if you wish to change accounts, you must sign out of the SkyMiles Shopping Assistant and then sign in again using the credentials of your other account.

The SkyMiles Shopping Toolbar uses encryption to protect the privacy and security of your SkyMiles Shopping account information. No personal information is stored in the SkyMiles Shopping Toolbar, so your account information will remain private. The account information that is displayed there is stored within the SkyMiles Shopping systems and cannot be accessed by other sources.

SkyMiles Shopping Assistant can't be seen or is not working all of my browsers: What do I do?

SkyMiles Shopping Assistant is only supported in IE version 7, Firefix 5 and Chrome 11 & higher. If SkyMiles Shopping Assistant is listed under View | Toolbars but is grayed out, please make sure SkyMiles Shopping Assistant is enabled under your Manage Add-ons settings.

To view these settings, please select Tools | Manage Add-ons (Internet Explorer users: Please select the Enable / Disable Add Ons entry from the Manage Add Ons menu).

After enabling SkyMiles Shopping Assistant in your browser's Add-ons section, try to bring the
Assistant into view by selecting View | Toolbars | SkyMiles Shopping Assistant
